History archive

eastsideThe history archive and exhibition for the WWII installations on Dunnet Head and Burifa Hill has been moved to the Scapa Flow Visitor, Lyness, Hoy. The Trust has donated all of the plans of the site and the collection of information about the Gee station and radar station to Orkney Islands Council so that the display could be more public due to the information centre at Brough being closed to the public. There is an extensive photographic library and letters from people who were stationed at both sites during WWII. We are still collecting materials which will supplement the materials now held on Orkney in the interests of cross firth working and wartime links between the mainland and Orkney.

We can also accommodate and monitor students who wish to study locally and assist with information. Please contact us for details.
