North Highland Forestry Trust
Orkney Tourism Group — The Trust has been a member of the dynamic Orkney Tourism Group since July 2008 and works with them to develop “Hands Across the Firth” projects for economic benefit for both sides of the Pentland Firth. The first of these was in 2009 when the Trust launched a number of exhibitions in Kirkwall, Stromness and as part of the Orkney Science Festival.
Caithness Chamber of Commerce — The Caithness Chamber of Commerce is committed to working with and leading its members and key partners to create a vibrant economy within Caithness that is successful, sustainable and diverse. Regeneration of the area is high on their agenda.
Moray Firth Partnership — The Trust is a member of MFP and assists with its projects such as the consultation on the Scottish Marine Bill. One of the Trustees visited Denmark in 2007 as a guest of MFP in order to promote a possible extension to the North Sea Trail which currently ends at John o Groats and marketing opportunities for the Trail through the walking festival.
Wild Scotland is the Scottish Wildlife and Nature Tourism Operators Association - a not-for-profit organisation comprising of wildlife and nature tourism professionals, all of whom are committed to delivering a first class wildlife-watching experience.
The Trust is very grateful for the support provided by the BIG Partnership of Aberdeen. This is the second year of our working relationship and they are supportive and helpful. Most recently they have negotiated a pair of tickets courtesy of Eastern Airways be won in a competition - you can see details on our web site at http://www.walkcaithness.com. The Trust has joined the Caithness branch of the British Science Association and looks forward to working on joint projects with the association. This seems very appropriate given that Dunnet Head is a Site of Special Scientific Interest as designated by SNH. More>>>>
North of Scotland Hospitality (NOSH) is a community led tourism association which was first launched in 2001 and is now being rejuvenated. The Trust is affiliated to NOSH and works on joint projects. The Trust tends to look after educational projects, such as those with London South Bank University, and promotion of Dunnet Head. NOSH looks after the wider tourism offering.
The North Highland Forest Trust was established in 1999 to promote sustainable management of woodlands in Northern Scotland for the benefit of local people. There is a section about community groups into which the Trust falls.
