Our regular customers may have noticed the appearance of a handsome new waiter in the restaurant - and he's clever as well! Brian is currently being initiated in the ways of looking after you by Marjorie, the best teacher he could possibly have. Well . Marjorie IS threatening to retire after next season, so we're planning ahead.
The LEC, CASE (Caithness and Sutherland Enterprise) have agreed to part fund an exhibition about Dunnet Head in the Scottish Tourist Board in Cockspur Street, London, from 6th August to 31st August. Many thanks to Frank Garnett for his photography, and to Mary Legg, the local Ranger, for her photos and text for the brochure. This is the first of many events we are planning to promote Dunnet Head.
One of our B&B guests was a guest at the Northern Gate (the big white house on the hill , originally built for an Admiral) when it was a hotel 29 years ago. He was most disappointed to find it is now a private residence!
Another long term guest has been working on a geophysical survey at Dounreay.
We had another visiting photographer, Colin Palmer from Bishops Stortford who has an excellent web site of photographs from all over Scotland. See http:// www. buyimage. co.uk

I am finally back in the saddle - how lovely to be on Richard's broad back again after 2 months off. However he did disgrace himself by attempting to drive
off a visiting gelding and not letting him near his paramour, Honey. Andy wasn't bothered though - he is above all that nonsense. Richard is SO fickle anyway - when Carrie, a neighbouring mare, comes to visit, he only has eyes for HER.
