Pictures of the far north
Where to start this page, what photo was the question, I chose these photos of puffins by Frank Garnet of Northampton. Frank visits us about three times a year on his annual tours of professional photography, you will find many calendars with Franks name on the photo. Frank has found fame in retirement at 70 plus.Puffins arrive in the area around May time for breeding, and remain until July.

The "Magellan
Daisy" is understood to have been brought to Caithness in sailing ships from
South America, well, many such ships came to Brough bay a century and more back in time.
They sailed from Ham Harbour to New Scotland and Scandiniavia. Here is the multi headed
daisy on Dunnet Head.
Photos by Frank Garnett of Northampton.
Telephone Frank 01604 401460 if you would like copies of any of the photos above.
These are some of the views you will see from the back of the property, including some of the B&B rooms. Imagine waking up to such stupendous scenery! The views of the Pentland Firth and Hoy are spectacular whatever the weather. In the foreground is Brough Bay, which has a small pier which was built as a landing point for building materials when the Dunnet Head lighthouse was constructed around 1847. The pier is still used by locals for launching their fishing boats. All photos were taken by the proprietor, Brian Sparks, email [email protected]
