Visit Caithness for a week and enjoy a day of golf, fishing, walking, wildlife watching, cycling or horse riding.
Things to do:
Cycling - Camster Forest - Forest Commission track. See http://www.forestry.gov.uk. The terrain is ideal for cycling - not too hilly, quiet roads away from the A9 and in the Forestry Commission forests. There is a cycle hire shop in Thurso.
Also http://www.northsea/cycle.com/index1.htm - the nearest marker to Dunnet Head is about 2 miles away - do that extra 2 miles and stay at our cosy cottage at the most Northerly Point on the UK mainland!

The Ranger Service organise a programme of walks - details from the Ranger Station or from the Dunnet Head Information Point. The RSPB organises walks on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Forsinard station, as well as other walks. Enjoy a day out with local man, Dane Miller, Caithness Tours, and learn about the hidden nooks and crannies of this the most northerly part of Scotland.
Fishing - we sell fishing permits for the Dunnet Head lochs.
Fishing - good fishing at Dunnet Head lochs. The lochs are stocked with brown trout. Permits available from Dunnet Head Information Point, or at Windhaven when the centre is closed.Fishing is also available at St. John's Loch, where there is also a wheelie boat for disabled users. Permits available from Northern Sands Hotel, Dunnet.

Horse Riding - Halkirk - Mrs. M. Bain, Achalone Activities - Tel: 01847 831326 BHS, liveries, riding lessons, trekking, Forestry. There is also information about access and horse riding routes.
Golf - there are three 18 hole golf courses in the area - at Wick, at Reay and in Thurso. Each charge £20 per round.
