London 2012 Open Weekend - the Trust took part in the London2012 Open Weekend from 23-25 July and had a number of challenges which are accessible to all. There was the Zip Slide at Wick organised by Clic Sargent, "have a go" on the pipe and drums
organised by the national Piping Centre in Glasgow, and the Trust's own event at Dunnet Head. We even got a "thank you" from Seb Coe!
23rd July - "Have a Go" sessions on the pipe and / drums. 2 x 30minute “Have a go" sessions at 12.30pm and 1pm at the Wick Pipe Band Hall in Wick on 23rd July. These would consist of a piper taking a group through the basics of piping, with practice chanters and then letting them try out a set of pipes (which could give a lot of comedy value…) or the same with drums. 
24th July - Zip slide across the Wick river.
Registration fee: £20 per person. Minimum sponsorship: £80 per person.
Please note participants
must be aged 16 or over.
Individuals or teams welcome.
Full training given.

23-25th July - "Have a go" orienteering. Supported by the Scottish Orienteering Association. Started from the Trust´s headquarters at Brough and orienteer your way across some magnificent wild landscapes while investigating the plantlife in the peatlands on Brough Common Grazings and enjoy the three miles of golden beach at Dunnet Bay.
