The Trust holds the biggest archive about WWII history in Caithness. The plans of the military installations at Burifa Hill and Dunnet Head are at the tearooms at Dunnet Head, along with an archive of information. There is an extensive photographic library and letters from people who were stationed at both sites during WWII. We are in constant contact with the Scapa Flow Interpretation centre where the materials were held for some time.
You can now purchase the book “WWII Sites in Caithness” on Lulu.
You can subscribe (free) to the history group and if you become a Friend, you will receive a copy of the catalogue and our quarterly magazine, the North Highlands Explorer, which is packed full of information about Caithness and Sutherland.
Join the Caithness History Group. This is a virtual group and monitored by the Dunnet Head Educational Trust.
