During 2015 LetsGoNorth will be organising a number of events. Some of these are under the auspices of the Dunnet Head Educational Trust to raise money for the North Highland Way.

The route

The route goes through some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland - the north coast.


We are throwing down the gauntlet and challenging you to complete the Knights of the North Highland Way Challenge from John o Groats to Cape Wrath in the far north of Scotland. Between 4th April and 27th September 2015 you will be able to take the North Highland Way challenge and be entered in a prize draw. The Way can be completed in ten easy stages. There are sections of the route which can be difficult and challenging underfoot so make sure you are fit enough.

Sponsors

You can sponsor the event and help raise money whether you are a business or an individual!

Businesses pay a fixed amount of £30.00. When they have donated their details will be uploaded to the web site on the list of sponsors. Their donation will be deducted from their annual subscription.

Individuals can make whatever donation they want - even if they are not entering the challenge!

Everyone who completes the challenge gets a certificate of completion and a medal.

You can buy “Barry Beats Britain” to get the story of the Coastal Relay. You can also book the legendary Barry the Baton and carry with him on your walk!

GPS Training

When you are navigating the North Highland Way, you will need a GPS. Most i-phones have an in-built GPS nowadays, but you can purchase a Garmin for very little money to help you on your way. Here is a video to help you on your challenge.

Rules

All participants must be over 18
No one associated with the Dunnet Head Educational Trust can enter.
Friends of the North Highland Way get 10% off entry fees.
Completed cards must be returned by the end of September to the address on the ticket.
Photos (selfies) of the location for each stage must be sent digitally to the organisers for verification. Information on the ticket.
Participants should not walk alone.
Suitable footwear should be worn - no flip flop!
Ensure that you are fit enough to undertake the challenge.
No dogs.
Follow the country code
Entries will be verified by the organisers and then placed in a draw.
Winners will be advised in advance of results being made public on this web site.The winners will be notified by email by the end of October 2015.
